Let me recommend "The Citizen's Step-by-Step Guide to Collecting Your Judgment" priced at just $39.95 (at this writing) which is a real bargain when you discover all the information that is supplied.
This excellent manual is presented by my fellow CAJP member and long-time judgment professional Peter Gilboy,Ph.D. (Peter, a seasoned judgment collection pro, owns judgment Trackers in San Diego, CA. - be sure to check out his website!) This is a terrific manual and includes links to resources very few people utilize. Peter not only shows you the "how to's", but covers the "what if's", which can be a real time-saver for you in executing a successful collection.
It's quite easy to follow and Peter "peppers" the chapters with real-life instances he's encountered. (Truthfully, this is the manual I wish I had written.) My advice: Buy it. Even if you choose not to "do-it-yourself" you'll get a great education on the collection process.

As the person who started junkfax.org, I'm one of the world's leading authorities on junk faxes and the people who send them. As you might imagine, they are among the hardest debtors to collect a judgment from. Peter's book is, by a long shot, the BEST book on collecting judgments that I'm aware of.
He'll show you techniques for getting your debtor to pay that even the smartest collection lawyers don't know about. It's an easy read...I read it in one night. If you do your own collections, or are simply assisting the person it is assigned to, this book should be an essential part of your arsenal.
I've never made an endorsement like this in my life, but with this book, I'll make an exception: this book is easily worth 100 times what Peter is charging for it. In fact, I made close to 1,000 times my investment on his book the first time I used a few of the techniques I learned from the book. If the debtor has assets, even if they are out of state or out of the country, this book will tell you more ways to find them and seize them than any other resource I know of.
